A Summer Picnic with Sun Chips | Cooking Classy

I can’t believe how fast summer is passing by this year! Summer will be over before we know it and that’s what made me realize I need to get out and enjoy the weather before it passes by! Between work, family and the many obligations in between, it’s easy to lose yourself in the mix. But imagine a world where everyone took a moment for themselves, to detour from routine and follow their own unique tune with a little help from one of their favorites–SunChips whole grain snacks. I did just that! I packed up this fun and easy lunch and took my family outdoors for a picnic. My girls played on the playground with my husband while I photographed for this post. They kept coming over and asking if they could eat the snacks yet (nevermind the sandwiches and drinks I made for them)! Not only do SunChips snacks taste great, they contain 30 percent less fat than potato chips! Regular chips contain 10g of  total fat per 1 oz. serving and SunChips snacks have 7g of total fat per 1 oz. serving. In addition, the Whole Grains Council suggests people consume 48 grams or more of whole grains daily, and SunChips whole grain snacks provide 21 grams of whole grains per one-ounce serving. In fact, diets rich in whole grains and plant foods, and low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may help reduce the risk of heart disease.

This year, the SunChips brand is calling for consumers everywhere to release their inner free-spirit and celebrate all of the things that make them fun, quirky and “Unique in Every Wave” – whether that’s jamming out in a mini dance session in your office, having an impromptu painting party (or picnic) in the park or finally rocking that fun, vibrant outfit that is just so… unmistakably “you!” SunChips whole grain snacks have always stood out from the crowd. With one-of-a-kind waves and 100 percent whole grains you can see and taste, SunChips whole grain snacks offer an unmistakably delicious snacking experience.

So you may ask; “What makes SunChips whole grain snacks so unique? “

  • 100 percent whole grains you can see and taste.
  • Made with no artificial preservatives or flavors.

    • Jaclyn: I don’t have recipes for them it was just water with plenty of strawberries and some lime wedges and mint in one then blueberries, lemons and mint in the other. Pierce the fruit before you add. I just pinned these that look great too and they have recipes listed: http://www.sheuncovered.com/2015/05/fruit-infused-water-6-ways/ August 15, 2015 at 1:44pm Reply
