Can I Make Bread Pudding in Advance?

You could prepare this the day before then chill and bake the next day. Let it rest at room temperature while oven preheats, then add extra time to baking as needed.

Can I Add Raisins?

Of course raisins can be added to this recipe if you’d prefer.

Add up to 1 cup, just rehydrate them first. To do so soak in boiling water for 30 minutes then drain. Toss in with the bread cubes then pour in milk mixture.

I wanted to make Bread Pudding for Christmas but by the time I got to go to the store all of the loaves of day old bread were sold out. I looked down on the bottom shelf and found a sack of Blueberry Bagels. It sounded good to me so I went over to the Produce Dept. and picked out a pint of fresh Blueberries to use in the recipe in place of the raisins. I made as directed and WOW. It was served warm with a vanilla bean ice cream. There was unfortunately no seconds but I now know to make two or three for our next family holiday dinner. This was sooooo very good!!!!

I added about 1/4 tsp mace rather than ginger. It turned out good.

Ginger is listed in the ingredients, but not in the ingredients when they are listed with their measurements. Ginger or not? I’ll add about as much as nutmeng.

Sorry about the typo that was out of habit. No ginger is needed but can definitely be added for a little more spiced flavor (1/4 – 1/2 tsp). Hope you love this!
