Today several of my blogging friends and I have teamed up to present you with a chance to win a KitchenAid Artisan 5-Quart Stand Mixer in Ice.

contest-update

I don’t know what I would do without my KitchenAid Stand Mixer (seriously). For me, one of these is a MUST in the kitchen. I can still remember the days when I was trying to prepare my cookie dough with an electric hand mixer and nearly burning the motor up every time :). The KitchenAid Stand Mixer is definitely one of my favorite kitchen appliances so I’m excited for a lucky one of you to win one of these! Best of luck and thanks for supporting Cooking Classy!

Isn’t it a beauty?

She has an old stand mixer (that looks like this, but it was originally white and with age and time has yellowed; though the original silver/metal bowl is still the same) that I have been begging her to give me since I moved out. Now that she has Alzheimer’s she’s been sticking with things she remembers, and baking Christmas cookies is one of those things. Unfortunately her recipes are worn and faded, so with her memory close to gone it’s been difficult for her to bake her cookies as well as she had in the past, but it’s the motion of using her stand mixer and putting the ingredients together that has helped her with each day that passes as the disease progresses.
