Chocolate Cake Mix Waffles (with only 4 ingredients) are the easiest way to WOW your family and guests with a special breakfast! It’s the sweet and chocolatey cake mix you love, made fluffy and crispy in your trusty waffle iron, then topped with your favorite syrups, fruits, and more. Try these for a quick and fun Valentine’s breakfast!

Word is out that you can make waffles with a cake mix so I had to see for myself, and yes, it really works! But more importantly, they’re completely delicious! And breakfast couldn’t get any easier, or dessert for that matter. Four ingredients and just a few minutes of prep is all it takes for these decadent waffles, that taste just like cake of course!

Chocolate Cake Mix Waffles

Could there be a more perfect Valentine’s Day breakfast to make for your loved one? Kids would go crazy for these too! I served them here with Nutella sauce, which is also unbelievably easy to make. All you need to do is whisk a few tbsp of milk with Nutella (you can also warm it if you’d prefer a warm sauce).

Wait… people are eating these chocolate waffles for dessert? Ok, I guess. But why wouldn’t you start your day with dessert waffles if you could?

I keep wondering if their company will ever come out with a Nutella sauce (perfect for ice cream, cakes, pancakes, and waffles and just to squeeze directly in your mouth) but until then I just go this easy route. You could also use chocolate ganache if you’d like for these.

And fresh strawberries I think are a must, we all know and love the way they pair with chocolate so here it’s a match that’s meant to be.

You can also use other cake mix flavors. I’m excited to try out more, but chocolate always comes first, right?

Enjoy!

Unfortunately I haven’t tried so I couldn’t say with certainty but I assume it should work just fine.

VERY good waffles. I LOVE chocolate waffles. Store bought aren’t very good. Second time I tried this recipe. This time I added chocolate chips to the batter. After those waffles were done I added white chocolate chips. After those were done, I added crushed homemade chocolate chip cookies. All the same batter. Boy they were good. If you are going to add chocolate chips, be careful. The chips will melt instantly and ooze out of the waffle maker! I ate some with Cool Whip on top. YUM. Will try Nutella sauce next.

I made these, used several different flavors of cake mixes, for my church breakfast. I made up a vanilla cream based dipping sauce. I packaged the sauce in little cups with lids so the kids could walk around if they liked. I used a choc. cake mix, a strawberry cake mix and a vanilla cake mix. The church family loved it. They were easy enough to make up a whole bunch and they did not have to be served warm, they were great for finger food breakfast. Thanks so much for posting the idea.
