This strawberry greek frozen yogurt is simple, delicious, and much healthier than ice cream . With its three ingredients and minimal prep you’re going to want this all summer long, especially with its abundance of fresh strawberries.

I might just eat it for breakfast :). It is also delicious to blend a scoop or two with milk (or almond milk) and make a smoothie. Enjoy!

Strawberry Frozen Yogurt

Easy to make frozen yogurt recipe that's packed with fresh strawberry flavor and sure to satisfy! Try it with blueberries for another delicious option!

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Puree strawberries in a food processor until well pureed and strawberries pieces no longer remain, scraping down sides once during processing.
  • Force pureed strawberries through a fine mesh strainer into a large mixing bowl (if you don't mind seeds you can skip this step).
  • Add plain Greek yogurt and agave nectar to strawberry puree and whisk mixture until well blended.
  • Cover bowl with plastic wrap and freeze 30 - 40 minutes, stirring once during chilling, then transfer mixture to an ice cream maker and process mixture according to manufactures directions.
  • Enjoy soft or transfer to an airtight container and freeze until semi-firm (or firm and allow to thaw slightly at room temperature before enjoying).

    Jaclyn, I’m so very sorry about your injury. I would be so heartbroken, but I know you will get through it and find other ways to channel your energy. Maybe a stationary bike? Sometimes I power walk on the treadmill and it really does get my heartrate up. Anyway, I’m thinking of you!

    PS: I need this gorgeous fro-yo! It’s so easy :)

    I go to the YWCA pool and run in 12 foot water but the hospitals here also have pools for running as do some gyms.Good luck, I think you would enjoy it as you get the same type benefits as running on land.

    What about deep water running? I deep water run everyday and love it. You wear a flotation belt and run in deep water just as you would on ground. I cannot have any impact so this is wonderful.

      I never thought of that, I don’t think I’ve actually ever heard of it (is it something similar to what they’d do in physical therapy?) but I imagine I could do something like that. Now I just need to have a pool built :). But really I’m going to have look into that type of exercise, thanks so much for the info! What I’d give to run again.

    What can I use to sweeten instead of the agave in this recipe?

      1 cup of granulated sugar would work great. I just chose agave for a healthier alternative but sugar would be delicious too :).

    I was also once a big cross-country runner who also got major hip surgery (six years ago at the ripe old age of 18) who was also told no running anymore, so I know entirely how you feel. I don’t know extensive your surgery was, or how long you’ll have to do PT, but I found that Bikram yoga and deep-tissue sports med-type massages really helped me, as did constant PT. I promise it gets better! I still can’t run–the ouch the next day is just entirely not worth it, but it’s opened up a whole new world of exercise options. I’ve found that I love to walk, and swim, and ride horses and all sorts of other things–seriously, it gets better!

      Thanks so much Cassidy for your comment!! It’s so nice to hear there’s more out there than just running because it can feel like such a loss, and for you at 18 I thought 25 was young for hip problems. I just feel so restricted now because I was talking to the dr about trying out an exercise bike and doing an elliptical and I was asking if I could do them with resistance and he recommended none of that, also no street biking only mountain biking, no more lunges and the strength training I used to do. No uphill walking. Basically anything that’s going to involve my hip a lot or put it in a tight position is out – which feels like every exercise out there :). It’s so good to know you’ve found things you like!! That is crazy you had the same surgery, I’m sure it’s much more common than I think. I just had never even heard of it until I got it, I didn’t know such thing existed. And seriously it kills! Who knew such a small tear in cartilage could be so painful? And now that a portion of it is cut off it hurts even more – but hopefully the surgery will be worth it in the long run. I’m hoping once I start PT it will improve like you said (it would be nice to sleep again at night). I’m glad to hear that PT helped you! Again thanks so much for your comment Cassidy.     What perfect timing for this recipe. I just received my Wolfgang Puck dessert maker yesterday and saw this post so it was the very first thing I made in the machine. My husband is not a big fan of ice cream so he was super excited to try this. It was so easy and truly yummy. I think I will eat it in a waffle bowl with a little chocolate sauce on top just to be naughty! Thanks again for another delicious recipe.

    Oh, I’m sorry! It stinks that you can’t run, but I suppose you’re right that it could have been worse.

    Anyway, that frozen yogurt looks totally delicious! I’ve made it my goal to make more frozen things this summer and this is something I’m totally trying.
